Gingrich: Pelosi Comments On CIA Should "Disqualify" Her As House Speaker



Granted, comments by Newt Gingrich, a noted bomb-thrower and cry baby, should be taken with a grain of salt. Still, as a former Speaker of the House, his thoughts on the current Speaker of the House are noteworthy. On The Joe Scarborough radio show this morning, Newt called Speaker Pelosi's comments on the CIA "fundamentally irresponsible," and that they should "disqualify" her as Speaker of the House, "the third in line to be President."

Further, Gingrich praised CIA Chief Leon Panetta, who served in Congress with both Pelosi and Gingrich in the 90s, for having distanced himself from Pelosi. Gingrich seems to think that Panetta's maneuver was a subtle clue on President Obama's position on the issue. Panetta, we cannot fail to note, whose qualifications as Top Spy have been questioned by the Chattering Classes, has had an interesting relationship with the CIA. The attack on Speaker Pelosi was a perfect moment -- perhaps we are being too cynical here -- to throw Pelosi under the bus and curry favor with the Agency.
