Kanye: Snubbed

Kanye West is everywhere ... everywhere, that is, except Chinawhite, the UK club, not Kate Moss' breakfast (Exaggerated cough suggesting feigned detachment). Though he made the cover of Time Magazine, has had the number one single in the US for the past 3 weeks, and, famously, said President George Bush doesn't care about black people, he cannot get into ChinaWhite. According to the 3AM Girls:

"HE'S the hottest rapper on the block, but Kanye West was treated like an average Joe when he was left in the cold on a night out in London.

" ... Our source told 3am: 'Kanye rocked up at Chinawhite at around 2.30am with his entourage.

"'They parked their two silver Mercedes people carriers outside the club and all of them headed to the door.'

" ... The 28-year-old star endured a humiliating snub when bouncers at West End club Chinawhite wouldn't let him in - because they didn't know who he was.

"'Beyonce and Jay-Z even flew over especially for the gig - it was definitely the hottest ticket in town,' says our source."

The outspoken -- waay, waay outspoken -- singer then attacked white musicians who sing black music (We ... didn't know music had a specific race). According to Contactmusic:

"He says, 'I hate music where white people are trying to sound black. The white music I like is white."

(A considerable pause) Okay ... He then continues, quixotically:

"'I like Franz Ferdinand. That's the s**t.'"

WTF?! (The Corsair is genuinely baffled) Lest you think, though, that Kanye West really believes all that he says, check out this, from America Magazine from Australia:

"West also offers some insight into his forthright character in the article, confessing to America that 'it's fun, the whole saying stuff just to get under people's skin.'"

Ah, that explains everything.
